- NEM sends out groups of short-term workers to the Middle East several times a year. For Israel dates tend to be around 1 January, 1 July and 1 September; to the surrounding Arab countries around 1 January and 1 September.
- NEM organises a preparation day in the month before departure; attendance is compulsory for all candidates.
- NEM provides (group) accommodation, food and drink.
- The nature of the voluntary work is agreed upon after consultation.
- As part of the Bridge Builders programme, one day each week short-term workers will be introduced to the culture of the country they visit, through lectures and excursions, and will receive teaching on the fulfilment of Biblical prophecy, the ministry of reconciliation, etc.
- Each short-term worker is personally responsible for his/her own travel expenses and health insurance.
Fees for the Bridge Builders programmes: (Fees include food, accommodation, teaching and travel expenses during the programme); 1) January-April 2011: two weeks in Egypt, followed by three months in Israel: £ 1320 2) Two months in Israel during July and August: £ 890 3) three months in Israel from September – December: £ 1225 4) three months in Egypt: £ 1060
- The Bridge Builders programme generally lasts for three months. However, if agreed upon, your time as a voluntary worker can be extended to a maximum of one year. In this case accommodation and food become your own responsibility, however, in most cases these will be provided by the organisation you serve.
