General information

  • Groups of short-term worker are sent out several times a year to Israel around 1st January, 1st May and 1st September; to one of the surrounding Arab countries around the 1st January and the 1st September.
  • A preparation weekend is organised in the month before departure; this is compulsory for all candidates.
  • The NEM arranges (group) accommodation, food and drink.
  • The nature of the voluntary work is agreed upon after consultation.
  • One day each week as short-term worker, through lectures and excursions, you are introduced to the culture of the land, the timeliness of the fulfilment of Gods promises for his people and the Biblical ministry of reconciliation, etc.
  • Each short-term worker is personally responsible for his/her own travel expenses and health insurance. In addition to this we ask for a monthly contribution of approximately £185/$ 345 (depending on the dollar rate) to help cover costs for food and accommodation.
  • The short-term period, which includes the study programme, lasts for three months. If agreed upon, the voluntary period can be extended to a maximum of one year. However accommodation and food become your own responsibility. But in most cases these will be provided by the institute where you serve.
